Navigating Life's Ultimate Transitions

Transitions of Juniper is rooted in the belief that change, transition, loss, and identity shifts are natural junctures along life's pathway. I offer to walk beside you in companionship, with grounded and compassionate presence as you navigate these profound moments.

End-of-Life Planning and Healthcare Advocacy

Periods of unexpected or less than welcome change come with complexities and considerations. It becomes ever more important to have grounded, compassionate individuals who center self-determination, reverence, and broad, empathetic perspectives, as well as are able to pin down the often overlooked details. These changes represent the spectrum of death and rebirth cycles that we embody across life's path. Death care is truly a vibrant and diverse approach to meeting people where they are at in their own lived experience.

Know Your Options

Beyond the traditional and conventional, lies your own intuition about what your final months, weeks, days, hours and moments should look like....taste like....sound like...feel like. We have all imagined a story about what our memorial service would entail. The truth is that this is a story you get to write, from beginning to end.

As a Doula, I can help you identify the myriad of options available before and after death, which may create grace and dispel fear.

Healthcare Advocacy

Receiving a life limiting diagnosis can be a difficult time. Fear, complex medical terminology and landscapes, and the power dynamics of the healthcare field can whirl together to leave patients feeling disempowered and confused.

As a Doula, I can help offer clarity, translation, support you in formulating and asking questions,  advocating for your preferences with your medical team and your family if needed.

The Full Spectrum of the Meaning of Family

Pet Loss

Our Furbabies are so much more than "just a" dog, cat, horse......our companions and familiars have walked beside us for a lifetime and born witness to our brightest and darkest moments. They are imprinted on our spirits just as eternally, if not moreso for many of us than the people we hold dear. We deserve sacred goodbyes and reverent memorial moments with our 4-legged friends.

Embracing Our Natural Cycle

Modern America is a death-denying society. We spend our lives trying to figure out how to stay young, how to avoid aging, and prolong death. Many grew up being taught to fear death, that discussing and planning for it will invite it, that allowing children to attend funerals or view the dead would frighten them. People have grown so death averse that when it comes to having important conversations and planning for the inevitable, they typically do not even know what questions to ask.

Your canvas, your colors

As a person who has experienced a range of roles in healthcare at end of life across 20 years, others should benefit from my knowledge, vocabulary, and capacity to navigate these complex systems. The final months, weeks, days, and moments of your life are a canvas upon which you can freely paint. I am here to offer the colors and brushes, empowering you to create a meaningful and intentional end-of-life experience.
